This is a temporary full time position for a few months.  Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm.

The Differential Response Liaison will provide domestic violence counseling and case management services to survivors who are referred through our contract with Dept. of Child and Family Services. This position works closely with the DV Specialist and the FCS office in meeting the needs of DV clients in their homes and providing referrals and support as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Coordinate and provide domestic violence services to Differential Response clients:  telephone, home visits, counseling, case management, advocacy, accompaniment, referrals, and assist clients with paperwork.

·         Provide comprehensive case management to clients for up to 18 months, assisting them with identifying their needs and strengths in order to reach their goals.

·         Teach and model strategies for accessing services, goal setting, conflict resolution, communication and other necessary skills to assist clients with achieving their goals.

·         Refer clients to appropriate domestic violence services in the community.

·         Attend bi-weekly Differential Response Liaison meetings

·         Develop & monitor service case plan activities.

·         Complete monthly progress reports and statistics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA degree in psychology, social services or related field.  Work experience in lieu of a degree may be acceptable.
  • Written and verbal fluency in both Spanish and English required.
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence in direct services, and government agencies preferred.
  • Experience working with child maltreatment cases/issues in the state of California.
  • Demonstrated skills in counseling, case management and client advocacy.
  • Familiarity with Harm Reduction philosophy and approach.
