Job Description

Evaluates needs of clients and develops treatment plan in coordination with others for individuals with mental, emotional, or substance abuse problems. Provide reliable and evidence-based assessment using the SCID diagnostic tool. Provide evidenced-based therapeutic interventions using adapted cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT for Psychosis). May also assist with family problems, risk assessment, suicide prevention, stress management, problems with self-esteem and assisting clients in applying for and obtaining other social services while providing a safe and supportive environment for agency’s clientele and adhering to laws regarding confidentiality and reporting requirements. Activities may include responding to potential program referrals, completion of intake documents, crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, prevention, and education. The therapist maintains accurate detailed documentation in an electronic medical record system.

Program Specific Responsibilities

• Meet regularly with clients and their families at site or out in community (REMOTE DURING COVID)

• Conduct assessment interviews and diagnostic evaluations with clients and parents to develop treatment plans.

• Provide evidence-based treatment intervention (CBT for Psychosis), family psycho-education, multi-family groups, case management, and crisis intervention.

• Collaborate closely with community providers, including making referrals to other community and mental health agencies when indicated

• Maintain clinical records after each client contact or service, in accordance with mandated quality assurance standards for MediCal and MediCare billing as well as in compliance with Marin County Behavioral Health Care Services documentation standards.

• Meet all deadlines and comply with agency’s documentation requirements and productivity standards.

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Attend and contribute to team meetings and case conferences, providing client updates, discussing clinical issues and exchanging ideas.

• Engage in outreach events, including psycho-educational presentations, open houses, and provide information about early psychosis to other mental health providers and general public as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

This is a full time position managing 7 staff members at a residential substance abuse program. Clinical Supervisor will create the curriculum of group counseling sessions, co-lead evidence based substance recovery groups, including relapse prevention and CBT/DBT oriented groups, and supervise unlicensed peer support and certified staff. The Clinical Supervisor will function as part of the substance abuse treatment team. The Financial Empowerment Specialist will focus on assisting their supervisor with the implementation, administration and delivery of the Financial Empowerment Program Operations and Services to at risk clients. Programs include but are limited to Client Financial Coaching, Education and VITA Tax program. All positions within the Financial Empowerment program are grant funded and driven.

Education and certifications –
• Bachelor or Master Degree in Social work or related field
• Financial Coach Certification required – AFC, FFC, or other related certification to Financial Coaching- Certification can be either already attained or actively in progress of attaining

Experience- Minimum 2 years of experience in the following:
• Financial Empowerment/Financial Coaching experience required
• Case Management experience is required
• Experience working with public, non-profit or other community organizations. Non Profit programming experience and familiarity with impoverished populations and associated service needs

Title Mobile Crisis Clinician

Job Information

The program was developed to provide assessment, crisis management, transportation and referral as appropriate to individuals presenting with behavioral emergencies in the community. The goal of the program is to provide the care and services that will best meet the needs of those individuals in the least restrictive environment by providing rapid on-site medical and psychiatric evaluation to determine a person’s disposition. The Clinician partner’s with an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in a non-emergency vehicle that travels throughout Alameda County, and responds to service calls related to consumers (including children, adolescents, and adults) experiencing mental health crises. Working collaboratively with the EMT as a team, the Clinician will respond to the call, evaluate and determine the disposition of the person in need and facilitate that process. LCSW or MFT.  We have part and full time available, below are the different shifts available:

Oakland Team A Evening: Monday – Friday 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Oakland Team A Part-Time: Saturday & Sunday 9:00 am – 3:30 pm

                                                Saturday & Sunday 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Oakland Team B Evening:  Monday – Friday 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Oakland Team B Part-Time:  Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

                                                 Saturday & Sunday 4:00 pm –10:00 pm

Position will start in May with online training, program starts serving clients in end of May/ early June.

Required:

LCSW or MFT

Experience in the field of crisis management and mental health

Experience in rapid screening and assessment, DSM5 Diagnosis and works effectively and efficiently in stressful situations.

Experience with Electronic Health Record systems

Must have valid California Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable by the Agency’s insurance company.

Experience in direct crisis intervention and crisis management services

Experience in billing- Medi-Cal and Medicare
