PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This is 2- year pilot partnership between our client and San Mateo County (SMC) and San Mateo, Daly City, South San Francisco and Redwood City (the cities) to partner a law enforcement officer with a licensed mental health clinician 8 hours per day, 5 days per week to respond to 911 calls that involve one or more individuals that may be exhibiting behaviors consistent with mental illness or substance abuse.

This is direct hire, benefited. The position requires a 40-hour work week, the position starts ASAP. Shifts are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. The schedule is 11:00AM – 8:00PM, and will not require the clinician to work weekends or be on-call. Clinicians will be provided a County car and police radio in order to respond to calls. This is a co-response model, but the clinician will respond in a county vehicle rather than riding with a particular officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
• Solid clinical treatment, assessment, diagnostic and evaluation skills.
• Knowledge of principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, crisis management and various treatment modalities
• Experience providing treatment for adults and youth with serious mental illness.
• Experience delivering services to adult and/or youth consumers who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Excellent documentation skills, progress notes, assessments, client care plans, etc.
• Experience using electronic health/medical record systems
• Extensive knowledge of available community resources within the County of San Mateo and its neighboring counties.
