Job Information

This is a full time temporary position based in LA, assignment starts ASAP and will go through part of Dec. The Housing Locator is responsible to assist individuals in need of higher level of care to relocate to alternative housing as a result of the relocation process being implemented. As a member of a multi-person team, the Housing Locator must thrive in a fast paced, group-oriented setting, and enjoy working in the field with clients in need of securing new housing. Importantly, the Housing Locator must possess a working knowledge of the myriad of subsidies available as well as alternative housing options, and must be able to assist the clients in the location, viewing, and securing of safe and affordable housing options. The Housing Locator must also be able to determine if available housing meets the specific funding regulations. The Housing Locator is responsible for preparing housing applications and processing of any documentation submitted to landlords or higher level of care facilities on behalf of the clients. Combination of field-based and office setting, car is required.

QUALIFICATIONS
BA degree or minimum two years’ case management experience working with homeless individuals living with mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders
Knowledge of social service providers and programs, and of local and federal government benefits and entitlements.
Ability to work in a high tolerance Harm Reduction model with Members who have multiple barriers.
