Job Information

The Shelter Services Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of staff, services, case management, housing programs and operations at South Napa Shelter in Napa County.

 Manage and supervise staff providing direct comprehensive services with participants at South Napa Shelter.
 Direct client services including community meetings, shelter congress, and grievance meetings.
 Ensure all services are provided consistently and effectively/efficiently, including case management and benefits acquisition, housing assistance/housing workshops, job counseling/referrals and vocational groups, financial management and budgeting, primary and mental health care, substance recovery services, parenting classes, tutoring and children’s enrichment programs, laundry facilities, and phone and mail service.
 Conduct weekly case conferencing meetings and provide clinical supervision to all South Napa Shelter staff including all service coordinators in the supportive service programs listed above.
 Evaluate participant progress to ensure that they are receiving effective services based on best practices and that program outcomes are being met. Maintain a supportive and caring environment.
 Supervise the Shelter Coordinator to ensure safe, efficient, and effective shelter and kitchen operations. Provide supervision to Social Work and Psychology interns.
 Provide staff training and evaluation for all direct report staff.
 Ensure that data is collected and input into appropriate systems such as HMIS and TCM. Compile and analyze program statistical data to ensure that outcomes for all programs are being met and being reported to supervisor.
 Provide information and recommendations to supervisor, regarding program evaluation and modifications to better meet resident needs, community needs, funding requirements, and agency mission.
 Develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with public and private social service agencies to enhance programming for participants.
 Coordinate with other agency programs to ensure seamless service delivery.
 Actively participate on the management team and assist the agency in rolling out policies, moving the mission forward, and developing innovative programming.
 Perform other duties as assigned by Program Manager.

 Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology and licensure preferred; Master’s degree in human services arena or closely related field required (please note that a bachelor’s degree in social work or closely related area will be accepted if experience meets qualifications).
 At least two years of direct experience in the provision and supervision of services to people who are homeless and/or have extremely low incomes.
 Understands the service needs of diverse groups and can work effectively with all.
 Excellent knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft office suite.
 A minimum of two years of supervision and program management experience.
 Strong assessment and engagement skills.
 Ability to maintain accurate and confidential client/service information and prepare internal and external reports as required.
 Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
 Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with a team.
 Bilingual a plus.
This position requires the employee to be able to travel efficiently to various sites for meetings
